Germany’s WAZ moves into Albania

Germany’s WAZ Mediengruppe has acquired a minority stake in Vizion+, currently the most popular and financially viable TV network in Albania.

The value of the deal, which was the result of a one-year analysis of the Albanian media market, has not been revealed. The acquisition of the stake in Vizion+ represents the first investment of the German media group in a TV market in Southeast Europe.

Vizion+ is a family orientated TV channel, which broadcasts news, political talk shows as well as entertainment programmes.

WAZ Mediengruppe does not exclude the possibility of further acquisitions in the Albanian media market.
